1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Markatit's websites, contractor application, visual-rendering workflow, public quote links, demo requests and human-assistance services. Markatit is a business-to-business service, but a contractor may enter information about homeowners or share a proposal with them.
2. Data we process

3. How we use data
- Provide accounts, customer records, property capture, visual concepts, quotes, sharing, engagement and follow-up.
- Process billing, credits, quality reviews and authorized human-assistance requests.
- Secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, debug failures and maintain audit records.
- Communicate about the account, requested demo, support, billing and material policy changes.
- Comply with law and enforce the Terms of Service.
Markatit does not sell personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or use customer content to train models. Service providers may process content only to perform storage, visual rendering, map, payment, hosting, communication, security or support functions for Markatit.
4. Human access to project content
Contractor project media is tenant-scoped. Human staff do not receive general project-media access merely because they work for Markatit. When a contractor requests human assistance, refund review or support, the request grants the assigned staff member or qualified reviewer access to the project context needed for that task. Platform administrators may access the minimum necessary information for security, billing, fraud prevention, legal compliance or incident response. Access and material administrative actions may be audited.
5. When data is shared
Markatit may share the minimum necessary data with:
- Hosting, database and private-media storage providers.
- Image-rendering, vision and speech providers used for requested rendering, quality review, brief creation or transcription.
- Map and property-imagery providers when the contractor requests those sources.
- Payment and email providers when those services are configured and used.
- Professional advisers, authorities or counterparties when required for law, security, a dispute or a business transaction.
- Recipients holding a valid, unexpired quote-share link created by the contractor.
Markatit does not disclose data to data brokers or advertising networks.
6. Retention
Account, customer, project, quote and media records are retained while needed to provide the contractor's workspace and history. Security, billing, credit and audit records may be kept longer when needed for fraud prevention, accounting, disputes or law. Public quote links expire or can be revoked. Provider-specific source data may have shorter licensing limits. Deleted data may remain briefly in protected backups before routine overwrite.
7. Security
Markatit uses organization-scoped access checks, private media storage, short-lived signed access, hashed share tokens, rate limits, role and task boundaries, verified staff accounts and audit records. No service can promise perfect security. Contractors must protect their credentials and share links and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
8. Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on applicable law, an individual may ask whether Markatit processes their personal data and request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy. Markatit does not sell data or use it for targeted advertising, so those opt-outs are not required to stop such activity.
Email support@markatit.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. Include enough information to verify the request without sending passwords or sensitive credentials. If Markatit denies a request, reply with “Privacy appeal” and the reason you believe the decision should be reconsidered. Markatit will respond within the period required by applicable law.
9. Contractor responsibilities
The contractor controls the customer and property data entered into its workspace. The contractor must have a lawful basis and any required homeowner permission to collect, upload, render from and share that data. Contractors should not upload government identifiers, financial-account data, health records or other information that is not needed for a visual quote.
10. Children
Markatit is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for business users. Do not use the service to collect children's personal data.
11. Changes and contact
Markatit may update this policy as the service or law changes. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and communicated when required. Questions may be sent to support@markatit.com.
